Chengdu is often sold as a fast checklist: pandas, hotpot, opera. This journey slows the city down and enters it through private tea, fermentation, conservation work, public teahouses, bamboo craft and mahjong as a social ritual.

Arrive in Chengdu, settle into the hotel and begin with private tea. The first dinner introduces Sichuan flavour with enough range for different spice levels.
If arrival is late, the day is adjusted around rest, dinner and a softer landing rather than forcing a full programme.
Pixian broad bean paste, fermentation, knife work and heat become the grammar of the day. A dedicated cooking class turns Sichuan food into technique, memory and lunch.

A full Panda Conservation Day in Wolong introduces panda care through conservation education and supervised food preparation.
Participation depends on the base's rules on the day. Voyage East does not promise touching, holding, hugging, feeding pandas directly or unrestricted animal contact.
Private Sichuan-opera interpretation helps guests understand roles, movement, makeup and story before watching a shared VIP performance.
The day also makes room for real teahouse life: people watching, gaiwan tea and Chengdu's public rhythm, not a sealed-off show.
A full day in Daoming Village is given to bamboo: the village, the material and hands-on weaving with a local teacher.
The value is the completeness of the day. Guests are not watching craft as scenery; they borrow the rhythm of the hand and leave with a small finished piece where arranged.
The journey closes with a light mahjong workshop at the hotel: tiles, basic rules and the social meaning of a shared table in Chengdu.
After the session, guests check out, take lunch independently or leave Chengdu. Airport or railway-station transfers can be arranged as an add-on.
Five nights' accommodation is included. The hotel and room type are confirmed at booking, with public pricing based on twin sharing.
A bilingual host supports interpretation, timing and coordination across the scheduled journey. Specialist instructors and venue staff vary by module.
Private transport is included for the planned excursion days, including Wolong and Daoming. Airport or railway-station transfers are not included in the base price.
The programme is public-facing by theme and day. The full operational timetable stays behind the scenes and is adjusted for weather, traffic, public operations, guest energy and partner availability.

A Slow Fire
The from price is based on six guests sharing twin rooms.
For four guests, the public price is US$1,300 per person.
Five-guest departures are quoted with one US$500 single-room supplement.
Private departures for two or three guests may be available on request and are quoted separately.
No payment at enquiry stage. Prices and inclusions are confirmed in writing first.

Qingcheng Mountain can be added as a full-day extension on request.
It is not included in the six-day website price. Food options on the mountain are limited, so a packed lunch and dedicated guide are recommended if this extension is arranged.
Yes. A Slow Fire is a selected-date private small-group journey for four to six guests. You book per person and may travel alongside people you have not met yet.
Sometimes. Private departures for two or three guests may be available on request and are quoted separately, because the cost structure changes at smaller group sizes.
Both work. Solo travellers, couples and pairs of friends can enquire, but exact rooming and any single-room supplement are confirmed before payment.
No. Airport or railway-station transfers are not included in the base price. They can be arranged separately as an add-on.
No. This is a Panda Conservation Day built around conservation education and supervised food preparation. Participation is subject to the base's rules on the day.
